It installs the way the whole DIY line does: paired with its matching condenser through a pre-charged Quick Connect line set, with no vacuum pump, no gauges, and no special tools or refrigerant certification required. Most homeowners have it mounted and connected in an afternoon.

What you should know
This product is the indoor head only; the condenser and line set are sold separately. Most buyers here are replacing the wall unit on an existing DIY 5th Gen 9K system. If you are setting up a room from scratch, the complete 9K system bundle is the better starting point.
Keep every component in the same generation. 5th Gen equipment runs R-454B refrigerant and does not mix with 3rd or 4th Gen parts, so the condenser and line set must both be 5th Gen with 1/4 in liquid and 3/8 in suction connections.
MRCOOL's 5-year parts warranty covers this air handler; the 7-year compressor coverage belongs to the outdoor unit of a complete system.
